ABOUT
Who is PEP-RJ?
PEP-RJ members are the eyes, ears, voice, and hands of a congregation. We create the programs, welcome newcomers, tell the congregation’s story, build relationships, and find new ways to help people feel that they belong.
Our work takes many forms—programming, membership, engagement, communications, marketing, community building, and more—but at its heart, it’s about connecting people to Jewish life and to one another.
Meaningful engagement doesn’t happen in a vacuum. That’s why PEP-RJ is built around connection: learning from colleagues, sharing what works (and what doesn’t), finding inspiration, and tapping into the resources of the Union for Reform Judaism.
Above all, PEP-RJ members are passionate about creating welcoming communities and practicing audacious hospitality. We’re proud to support the professionals doing this work every day—and to grow together as we build the future of Reform Judaism.
What is PEP-RJ?
For over 25 years, Program and Engagement Professionals of Reform Judaism (PEP-RJ) has connected the community of temple staff who help Reform Jewish congregations thrive.
PEP-RJ members cover congregational programming, membership, engagement, communications, marketing, and so much more (other duties as assigned, we like to say). Since 2001, we’ve helped these professionals build relationships, grow their skills, share ideas, and find the support they need to do meaningful work in their communities.
